On July 8, 2025, HuGAA donated over 180 brand-new medical uniforms to The Gambia’s Ministry of Health. This effort reflects HuGAA’s continued commitment to supporting healthcare systems and strengthening community-based health initiatives. The ceremony, attended by health officials and covered on national television, also opened the door for ongoing collaboration between HuGAA and public health stakeholders in The Gambia, including future educational programs in genetics awareness and capacity building.
The uniforms, originally from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital in Wales, UK, were provided through the generosity of Mr. Robert Munden Jones. They will be distributed to frontline healthcare workers nationwide, including at Brufut Health Centre.
