Today, 30 March 2026, the world marks Human Genetics for the very first time. At the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in The Gambia, HuGAA, alongside partners spanning four continents, is hosting the inaugural World Human Genetics Day.
This is a day rooted in science, community, and the radical belief that everyone deserves to be represented in the story of human genetics. From the laboratories of Oxford and Queen Mary University of London to the communities of The Gambia, today belongs to everyone who has ever been told their genetics do not matter.
We are live. We are global. And we are just getting started.
